120 employers hiring for 2,000 positions at Genesee County Career Expo

The Flint & Genesee Group and community partners are hosting the region’s largest in-person job fair on Thursday, Sept. 16. The event – which will be held from 1- 5 p.m. at the Dort Financial Center – will bring together 120 employers representing a collective 2,000 job openings. Industries represented include healthcare, manufacturing and education, to name a few. Positions range from entry level to management.

In addition to employers, there will also be a variety of community agencies and resources available at the event. There will be facilitators on-site to help with resumes and interview practice, and those in attendance can take advantage of complimentary haircuts, vaccinations and other resources.

 Additionally, for job seekers in need of professional attire, Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church (located across the street from Dort Financial Center at 3502 Lapeer Rd, Flint) will open its The Hem of His Garment Community Store, where visitors can pick out free clothing from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Visitors should enter at the Averill entrance and park in front of the last set of doors.

Sponsors and partners for the event include the city of Flint, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce, Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, WNEM, Consumers Energy, GST Michigan Works and Mott Community College Workforce & Economic Development.
