Youth Summit 2K18

Youth Summit 2K18

Organizers are excited to announce the 6th Annual Teen Summit on Thursday, Aug. 30. Since 2012, the Teen Summit has brought young people together for a day of social justice learning and leadership building. This Leadership Conference helps youth to understand current issues, build a plan of action, and realize their potential. Together they explore the concepts of the importance of education; and taking next steps towards implementation and development as our leaders of today. Through a series of interactive workshops and activities, youth learn how to create social change in our local and global communities. They will hear inspirational speeches and personal stories from amazing Community Advocates and Leaders and have the chance to connect and share their experiences and interests while in a fun and exciting environment!
When: Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 8 am – 6:00 pm
Where: Southwestern Classical Academy
1420 W. 12th Street, Flint, MI 48507
The Youth Summit is an annual youth forum hosted by the collaborative efforts of many community partners. Youth resources and informative sessions include topics on health, economics, safety, life skills, mentorship, music, and dance. The event presents a series of workshops geared towards addressing concerns and issues identified by young people, such as bullying, relationships, and self-image. Workshop facilitators are trained in strategic doing/planning and encourage solution-driven dialogue that will stimulate youth to focus on positive resolutions to overcome adversity.
