On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:31 p.m., a traffic crash occurred in the city of Flint on S. Grand Traverse St. at W. Atherton Rd.
The on-scene investigation revealed that Jaquaya Denise Buford: a Black female born 4-07-81, was driving a maroon GMC Terrain W/B on W. Atherton Rd. and was struck by a black GMC Acadia that was traveling N/B on S. Grand Traverse St.
Buford was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two individuals in the black GMC Acadia- a Black female born 11-23-03 and a white female born 8-26-84 -were transported to Hurley Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition.
Next of kin was notified.
Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be a factor in this crash.
