Flint, MI — Motherly Intercession’s Reading and Counting to Success Plus (RACS+) Program youth and volunteers are trading their pencils for sponges to scrub, shine, and spread smiles at their upcoming Fuel Our Future Car Wash.
Every dollar raised will go toward the purchase of a new program van—helping Motherly Intercession keep kids connected to educational opportunities, community engagement, and leadership development all
year long.
Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025
Time: 12 – 4 p.m.
Location: 1188 Robert T. Longway Blvd., Flint, MI 48503
For the past 25 years, Motherly Intercession has dedicated its efforts exclusively to Genesee County children ages 5–17 with at least one parent currently or formerly incarcerated. Motherly Intercession believes that
education—especially in reading and math—is key to breaking the cycle of intergenerational incarceration.
Through RACS+, youth receive tutoring to boost academic success, participate in community service and develop leadership and independent living skills. Events like their car wash not only raise funds needed, but also give local youth the opportunity to actively contribute to the communities they represent.
“This car wash is more than soap and water—it’s a chance for our youth to see firsthand that their efforts can drive change,” said Danielle Williams, RACS+ Program coordinator.
Williams added: “Every person who stops by will be helping us get closer to our goal of keeping kids connected to the opportunities they deserve.”
