(FLINT, MI) Patio Night at the Flint Institute of Arts Museum + Art School, inFIM partnership with FIM’s Music Around Town series, returns to the Palette Café Patio Friday evenings beginning July 11 through August 22. The community is invited to enjoy an al fresco evening of live music, food, drink and great atmosphere.

Admission is FREE to these events, with food and beverages available for purchase starting at 5 p.m. Guests may arrive early for a seat on the patio, or bring a chair or blanket and kick back on the FIA lawn. Music plays from 6–7:30 p.m. and musical performers and genres vary each week. A complete schedule of dates and performers is listed below and at flintarts.org.

As part of the FIA’s Late Night Friday programming, the FIA Museum Shop and all museum galleries will also be open until 8 p.m. for visitors to explore and view the FIA’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions including MI Ink: The Art of Tattoos.

“The beautiful Michigan summer days are longer and that means the return of Patio Nights to the FIA. What a great way to spend a Friday evening, out in the open air with friends, family, good food, cold drinks and fantastic local music!” said Tracee Glab, executive director of the FIA. “Partnering with FIM to offer this type of programming is yet another way the FIA lives its mission to connect diverse communities through fun, creative and inspiring visual art experiences.”

FIM Community Programs Coordinator Diane Alderson adds “Our partnership with FIA creates a mosaic of music, art, building community, and, certainly, making memories. In this way, FIM Music Around Town programming answers the call of our mission to ‘awaken and nurture the creative lives of children, youth and adults.’ Throughout the late summer months, our patio series becomes a destination for community connection, camaraderie and can even lead to dancing on the lawn!”
