Misdemeanor warrant issued for the Flint officer’s arrest for excessive force

On January 27, 2023, the City of Flint Police Department’s administration was notified of an incident of
possible use of excessive force. Upon being notified of this incident, the officer was immediately placed
on administrative leave without pay, and an internal investigation was initiated.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the officer indeed did use excessive force and therefore
a warrant request was submitted to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office for review. After the
Prosecutor’s office reviewed the case, a misdemeanor warrant for the officer’s arrest was issued for
Assault & Battery.

This administration says they will continue to be transparent and hold all officers accountable for their actions.
