FLINT Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said a 37yearold Flint man has been convicted of multiple felonies related to a 2022 incident involving the sexual assault of a child.

He faces up to life in prison on the most serious charges when he is sentenced on April 29.
The case revolves around an incident that occurred in the summer of 2022 at the Travel Inn, on Dort Highway, in Flint. According to testimony at trial and police investigations, Tiggs forcefully held a child under the age of 13 against a wall and sexually assaulted the individual. Another juvenile witness who was present in the room at the time later reported the incident to adults and a report was made to police.
Some of the evidence brought forth in trial included another sexual assault from 2005 that involved a child who is now deceased. Additionally, search warrants on Tiggselectronic tablet revealed he had searched for videos on YouTube on how to give body massages to an 8yearold along with research on laws in other countries pertaining to the legality of marrying children.

Tiggs previously served five years in prison for another criminal sexual conduct conviction and there are four additional felonies currently pending including kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.
Stokes King Tiggs is a dangerous individual who sexually preys on others, especiallyyoung people, said Leyton. Thanks to the hard work of my staff, the police and the jury, he will be sentenced to prison for a very long time and will no longer be a danger to our community.”

Prosecutor Leyton commended the hard work of Assistant Prosecutor Rachel Smith, who successfully tried the case in court, as well as the team of support staff who assisted her. The support staff included paralegals, secretaries, victim advocates and fellow assistant prosecutors.
