Genesee County Health Department seeking community and stakeholder input through listening sessions

The Genesee County Health Department (GCHD), in partnership with the University of MichiganFlint’s Department of Public Health & Health Sciences, is launching a series of  listening sessions to hear directly from community members and stakeholders about their health needs and access to services. Participants will receive free food and a $50 gift card (for fuel or groceries) in appreciation for their time.
This initiative is part of a research study and is a key step in shaping GCHD’s next Strategic  Plan. Multiple inperson listening sessions will be held across Genesee County for two groups:  community members and stakeholders. Stakeholders may include health care providers, first  responders, educators, communitybased organizations and faithbased organizations that serve Genesee County residents. Each group will have a dedicated space to share their experiences, challenges and ideashelping to inform GCHD’s public health priorities for the future.
“We want to better understand the barriers people face and the resources they need to live healthier lives,” said Michelle Estell, health officer at GCHD. “This is an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to speak up and directly influence how we plan our programs and services in the coming years.”
Eligibility:
