Flint Genesee Job Corps help make bunk beds for children in need

FLINT–The Flint Genesee Job Corps, servicing  16-24 years olds, recognized Martin Luther King Day, by partnering with Habitat for Humanity and Sleep in Heavenly Peace constructing and painting 54 bunk beds for children in our county who don’t have a bed.  Over 120 volunteers participated in the event from various organizations to include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts, University of Michigan (UM) , Holly High School,  Job Corps students and staff and more.

The activity was held at Job Corps carpentry and painting trades area.   The beds will be transported, along with blankets to families with children in our area needing a bed.  To learn how  to obtain a bed or volunteer  please call Sleep in Heavenly Peace, located in Flushing, at (855-827-4210 orhttps://shpbeds.org/apply/
