FLINT, Mich. – June 12, 2026 – Insight Health Systems and the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV) will host the SBEV Jr. NBA All-Star event on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, welcoming Charlotte Hornets forward and Flint native Miles Bridges for a special day dedicated to youth basketball, mentorship and community engagement.
The event will take place from 11a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Insight Health and Fitness Center, 4500 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48507.
SBEV’s Jr. NBA League serves elementary and middle school boys and girls, teaching the fundamentals of basketball while promoting physical activity, character development and teamwork. The program provides weekly games, skills training, mentorship and positive peer interaction, creating opportunities for youth to grow both on and off the court.
“This event is about much more than basketball,” said Maryum Rasool, CEO of the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village.
Rasool, added “Our young athletes will have the opportunity to learn from someone who grew up in Flint and achieved success at the highest level of the game. Experiences like this inspire confidence and reinforce the importance of hard work. We are excited to bring our community together for a day that celebrates mentorship and the power of sports.”
