GENESEE COUNTY, MI – To kickoff Men’s Mental Health Month in June, Genesee Health System (GHS) will host the next Pillars of Hope: Shop Talk Men’s Mental Health on Monday, June 1, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Unlimited Potential Barber & Beauty Salon

This barber shop talk experience creates a unique opportunity for the community to have candid conversations about mental health, stress management, preventative care that saves lives, suicide prevention and breaking the silence around men’s mental health. These conversations will take place while attendees receive free haircuts.
This family-friendly event is free to the community. Free food provided by Smoke-n-Gates BBQ.

Community partners include Unlimited Potential Barber & Beauty Salon, Gift of Life Michigan, Iota Beta Sigma – Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., City of Flint, and Men’s Health First. This will be GHS’s fourth Pillars of Hope event, with plans to continue hosting these events at various locations within the community to empower us all to take care of ourselves.
