Flint Police confirm ongoing investigation on Garland St. and Second Ave. shooting

Flint, MI – October 2, 2025 – The City of Flint Police Department confirms an active investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on Garland Street at 2nd Avenue. The shooting occurred Thursday, October 2, at approximately 4:56 p.m. The victim, a male juvenile who had already been transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment is in critical condition.

The major crimes unit, composed of detectives from the Flint Police Department and personnel from the Michigan State Police, continues to lead the investigation. A male juvenile suspect is in custody in connection with the incident.
