At approximately 6:07 a.m. Monday July5, a traffic crash occurred on W. Fifth Ave. and N. Grand Traverse St., resulting in a fatality.
The on scene investigation revealed that a gray Pontiac was traveling S/B on Grand Traverse and was struck by a white Chrysler which was traveling E/B on W. Fifth Ave.
The victim, a Black female juvenile, was transported to Hurley Medical Center and was pronounced deceased at 8:56 a.m., after suffering internal trauma. Next of kin was notified.
Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information pertaining to this investigation should contact Det./Sgt.
