On Friday, October 25, Martin Luther King III will be in Flint for a discussion on the importance of treating water as a human right.
Global human rights activist, Martin Luther King III is a believer in the power of stewardship. The oldest son of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, King III has dedicated his life to continuing his parent’s legacy of building communities and eliminating poverty.
King recognizes that protecting and advocating for clean and safe water is essential to safeguarding vulnerable populations and communities.
“We are excited to welcome Martin Luther King III to Flint, his mission to bring attention to rights around water is an important one. We know firsthand here in Flint the need to have safe and affordable water, so we are happy to have him here to learn more about the crisis and to carry our message globally”, said Mayor Weaver.
King III will be at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., at 1 p.m.
