Flint Alumnae Chapter invites the public to a free basic needs event at the Flint Public Library

March 8, 2023 (Flint) – The Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. invites residents and community members to the Flint Public library for the 14th annual Basic Needs Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 25. This year, the chapter will host the event in conjunction with HAP and Walgreens,

Representatives from agencies across Flint will be available to answer questions and provide attendees with information about food, housing, healthcare expungement and other resources. Agencies include Genesee Health System, Valley Area Agency on Aging, Greater Flint Health Coalition, MI Works!, Planned Parenthood, Mott Community College and many more.

The current president of the Flint Alumnae Chapter, Tamar Swain, said, “This event is a one-stop shop for individuals to come and receive needed services under one roof. We are grateful to the agencies and volunteers who are giving of their time to support the community.”

There is no cost to attend the Basic Needs Fair, and the event is open to the public.

The Flint Public Library is located at 1026 East Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48503.

About Flint Alumnae Chapter
The Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will celebrate 70 years on May 16, 2024. It was chartered on May 16, 1954, by 11 illustrious women and currently has over 100 financial members. The chapter’s programs are instilled using the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.
