You And The Law Workshop” Presented by the Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Saturday, Oct. 13 Starting at 10:00 a.m.

The men of the Flint Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the young men of the Esquire Mentoring & Leadership Program invite other young men from Genesee County to attend their annual workshop entitled, “You and the Law”.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, October 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mott Community College Regional Technology Center-Auditorium, located at 1401 Court Street, Flint, MI.  Please note that the campus entrance is off Robert T. Longway Boulevard.

The workshop will be conducted by law enforcement officers from the Flint area.  They will cover various scenarios and situations that often confront communities of color, especially young Black men.  Law enforcement officers with more than 70 years of combined experience will moderate a frank and honest discussion about what young people should and should not do in various police encounters.  They will also provide tips to help avoid these situations.  These scenarios include: traffic stops; being approached by the police while on foot; search and seizure; first impressions; and how to respond to questions when stopped by the police.

Young men are invited to attend and spread the word about this valuable and informative event designed to help Save our Sons.
