About four week ago a local restaurant in Flint called“Beverly’s”owned by Beverly Biggs’ Leavy located at 915 South Dort Highway had to close her door permanently because of the water crisis in Flint.
Flint water crisis is a drinking water crisis that started in April 2014. After Flint changed itswater source from threated Detroit Water and Sewerage Department water (which was sourced from Lake Huron as well as the DetroitRiver) to the Flint River, its drinking water had a series of problems that culminated with contamination, creating a serious public health danger. The corrosive Flint River Water caused lead from aging pipes to leach into the water supply, causing extremely elevated levels of lead.

When asked why she had closed she said “I closed about four week ago water I was buying water by the jugs to prepare my food, but the people didn’t know it they were scared I was giving them City Water. At the time I was making between three hundred to four hundred dollars a day. That wet down to $48 dollars a day, so I had to close.”
Beverly said she received a call and the called told her to come to a Music Concert that was being held at The House of Prayer Baptist Church in which the Pastor John P. Kee would who is the founder of the New Life Fellowship Center in Charlotte would perform. Beverly said after she arrived, she met with Bishop Neal Roberson who was responsible for getting Pastor Kee to Flint, and he asked her to stay and not leave until the concert was over.
Near the end of the concert Pastor Kee spoke about Ms Beverly and how he enjoyed eating at her restaurant each time he came to Flint. He then asked Beverly to stand, as she stood the crowd cheered and Pastor Kee said to her “I want to bless you tonight, I want to sow a seed in your business.” He had one of his choir members give her a Dozen Roses, and then he told another member of his group to “Pass On” to her a financial blessing because he wanted to help her reopen her business.
Beverly said to me “Pastor Fuller I am looking for a building as week speak.” All of us who have been blessed by God need to learn a lesson from Pastor Kee . Let’s “Pass It On!”
