Commit to Fit! 2019 New Year, New You Challenge

To promote health and wellness in Genesee County, the Greater Flint Health Coalition’s Commit to Fit! program is holding a New Year, New You Healthy Habits Challenge. This is a free, eight-week individual challenge that encourages individuals to practice daily activities to be more active, eat healthier, and promote wellness to others. The community-wide wellness challenge began January 1 and will run through February 28.

The New Year, New You Challenge encourages individuals to engage with friends and family to be more active, eat well, and promote health to others to accumulate Commit to Fit! Wellness Points. Participants will track and earn Commit to Fit! Wellness Points for a variety of activities including physical activity, nutrition, hydration, weight loss, and more. In turn, individuals are recognized and rewarded for achieving 3,000 Wellness Points over the eight-week challenge period.

All registration and activity tracking is done online via Commit to Fit!’s website, commit2fit.com, an interactive wellness website made available to all Genesee County residents as a free resource to track and improve health behaviors while also providing health tips, tools, and additional resources.

Throughout the New Year, New You Challenge, Commit to Fit! will offer free fitness classes on a weekly basis, providing interested participants with a great opportunity to be more active. Classes include Yoga, Aqua Aerobics, and Pound. Visit www.commit2fit.com to find a detailed schedule of free fitness classes available to the community.

Individuals who reach the New Year, New You Challenge goal will be entered into raffle drawings for gift cards and wearable fitness devices.
