After two sellout shows in Detroit, the hit stage play about the real life relationship between four sisters from Flint, will premier for one night only – Friday, Jan. 19 – at The New McCree Theater.
‘Fo’ Sistaz’ chronicles the complex lives of four sisters and how they dealt with life from the ordinary to extraordinary circumstances. ‘Fo’ Sistaz’ is an emotional ride that reveals self-identification and family dependency through the feminine lens of various religious and cultural perspectives. The play takes the audience on a journey to discover the real lesson behind the love and bond shared between sisters.
Calvin Ray said he wrote ‘Fo’ Sistaz’ to give honor to his mother and his aunts. He has watched them survive life’s ups and downs. He said, at the end of the day, their sisterhood proved triumphant. After watching his aunts grieve the death of their only living brother, he was determined to show the world how real sisters love. ‘Fo’ Sistaz’ uses dramatic comedy to bring light to commonly known bleak stories.
