Hamilton Continues Free Insurance Enrollment Assistance during Open Enrollment

With just over two weeks left to apply for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace, Hamilton Community Health Network (HCHN) hosts their last Enrollment Days event. This Open Enrollment season, HCHN hosted and attended a total of five health resource events to give free assistance to Genesee and Lapeer County residents.

The final event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, December 3 at Michigan Works! (711 Saginaw Street, Suite 300, Flint, MI). One of HCHN’s Outreach and Enrollment Specialists will be at Michigan Works! to assist those who may need help choosing the right insurance plan for them and their family.

HCHN Outreach and Enrollment Specialists are Certified Application Counselors (CAC) and are trained to navigate the Marketplace. The CACs also help individuals looking to enroll in Medicaid and the Genesee Health Plan. HCHN Enrollment Specialists provide this free service year-round to patients and non-patients. The Federally Qualified Health Center has been offering free insurance enrollment assistance since 2014.

The ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment began November 1 and ends December 15. People looking for assistance may make an appointment with one of HCHN’s Enrollment Specialists by calling 810-787- 5097, visiting www.hamiltonchn.org/health-insurance-enrollment, or by emailing outreach@hamiltonchn.org. An Enrollment Specialist will make the appointment at the HCHN clinic that is nearest to the person seeking assistance. There are seven locations located in Flint, Burton, Clio and Lapeer.
