Greater Flint Black Nurses Association to Host Its Annual Scholarship Fund-Raiser

The Greater Flint Black Nurses Association will host their 23rd Annual Scholarship

Fund-raiser on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 11:00am. The event will be held at the
Riverfront Banquet Center, 1 Riverfront Plaza Flint, MI 48502. This year the theme
is "Prelude to Summer" and will be a brunch and fashion show. Proceeds from the
fund-raiser will be used to provide scholarships to students that are pursuing a
career in professional nursing. Our goal is to be able to meet the financial needs
of as many nursing students as possible.

The GFBNA was organized in May 1989 as a charter chapter of the National Black
Nurses Association to represent Black Nurses in the Flint community. The GFBNA
strives to improve health care in the Greater Flint area. We collaborate with other
professional groups and community members who share common concerns to
provide health promotion and health education programs to our community, and
also provide the highest quality of healthcare. As a professional organization, the
GFBNA is committed to closing the gap in health care disparities and improving
the quality of life for all.

Everyone can help us achieve our goal by purchasing a ticket or making a
donation to this worthy event. Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased from any
GFBNA member. For more information please call Edna Mason at (810) 767-2829
or Irene Kirkland at (810) 785-1864.

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together in support of our professional
nursing students. By supporting them, you also support the healthcare of our
community!
