Genesee District Library, Flint Public Library and Local Businesses Team up to Promote National Library Card SignUp Month
August 27, 2018 – Flint, Michigan –Genesee District Library and the Flint Public Library are partnering with community businesses for National Library Card Sign-Up Month with a “Show Your Card and Save” promotion.
During the month of September, library patrons will receive discounts and special offers from 70 Genesee County businesses simply by showing their library cards. Participating businesses include shops at the Flint Farmers’ Market, Vogt’s Flowers and Tropical Smoothie, along with dozens of other Genesee County restaurants and service organizations.
“By now most people understand the valuable services a library card provides you,” said David Conklin, Director for Genesee District Library. “We are so happy that more than 70 local business outlets have partnered with us to provide some bonus value during September.”
Library cards already provide access to thousands of books and DVDs, as well as eBooks, eMusic, and eMagazines. Now this same library card will give the community special savings at local businesses.
People can pick up a list of these businesses in any one of Genesee District Library’s 19 branches, or at the Flint Public Library.
