Flint Branch NAACP Announces 37th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner

The Flint Branch of the NAACP will be celebrating its 37th Annual Freedom Fund Gala on Saturday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. The formal black-tie affair will be held at the Genesys Banquet and Conference Center, 805 Health Park Blvd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. The theme for this year’s event is “STEADFAST AND IMMOVABLE”.

“As we move to address today’s challenges, notably the current climate of economic uncertainty and political unrest, this is a pivotal time for our country,” said Frances Gilcreast, President of the Flint Branch NAACP.

“Today we are still faced with conflict in our national conversation about the direction that we should take this country and the survival of our economy. Together we will come alive and collectively write the next chapter of our history,” said Gilcreast.

This year’s keynote speaker is Sherry Gay-Dagnogo, a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 8th District since 2014. She is an educator, former Detroit City Council staff member and community organizer dedicated to transforming Michigan’s education systems.

The Annual Freedom Fund Gala is the chief fundraiser to support the NAACP’s numerous initiatives throughout the year, including scholarship endowments, day to day operations and work within the community.

Ticket information may be obtained by contacting the NAACP branch office at 810-742-8622.
